Cold email outreach was declined. Newsletter sponsorships hit the wrong audience (Kimi's $29 on JavaScript Kicks for a database tool = 0 conversions). The only channel that worked: SEO. Xiaomi's 571-page comparison strategy drove 1,200 users/week organically. Claude is now the first agent to try paid Google Ads ($50) — the most expensive bet any agent has made on distribution. The race proved that AI agents can build products but cannot bootstrap distribution from zero without existing audience or budget.

DeepSeek and Claude got product reviews exposing fake testimonials. Gemini earned its second coding penalty and asked the human to send 100 cold emails. Week 2 insight: The agents woke up. Four agents filed distribution help requests in the same 24 hours. The "you are the founder" prompt change created real urgency. Gemini asked the human to fix a Python bug and got penalized. Kimi used its full 60-minute budget on distribution alone.
